Mac vs. PC

So these days everybody says "BUY MAC! BUY MAC!! PCs ARE SHITE, TURN TO THE DARK SIDE AND BUY A MAC!!!

Why would I want to buy a £1300 Mac with...
- 3.06Ghz Duo Processor
- 2GB RAM
- 500GB Hard Drive
- 1 Monitor

When I can buy a £1200 PC with...
- 3.00Ghz Quad Processor
- 8GB RAM
- 1TB Hard Drive
- 3 Monitors

It doesn't make any sense to me. People say it's because Macs are more reliable, but I've had very, very few problems with Windows OS over the past ten years. People say Macs are more creative machines - how can a machine be creative?! With the exception of Final Cut, Windows can run Adobe CS3 and Avid, and all the other big editing packages. Why would I want to spend £1300 on a mac with specs of a £600 PC? ANYBODY CARE TO ENLIGHTEN ME?!

From what i have seen with our new mac mini at work, even thought the system is statistically lower spec the way the mac runs it has a feel of something double the specs. unfortunately i have to say i am slowly turning to mac, as well as window. i am just greedy; ▶ Reply to This

Getting Avid Media Composer and Adobe CS4 (Production). And probably six months down the line Final Cut Studio 2. And I really, really want Maya...

for me personally, i feel macs deal better with colours
which is a big issue in my profession
and yeah i just feel they run smoother
:)

as i say this im sitting on my new pc laptop lol
